This was very easy to set up. There are no confusing switches, and the sticky trap only fits in one way. I was worried that this trap wouldn't work because the room I put it in always had some light, but it does! I bought this because my plant room has fungus gnats, and I needed a trap to catch them while I was treating the soil to get rid of them. It works great!

We have been beyond annoyed this season with all the Mosquitoes getting in our home. We have oversized sliders and kids going in and out. We got another version of a light but it did not work. We found this and oh my goodness!! We have 3 and each one has gotten so many of the little vampires!! We are beyond happy!!

We have two cabins that we rent out. Bugs like cabins a lot. I have tried to get rid of bugs by putting out different kinds of things that bugs like. Without a doubt, this is the best. All bugs are drawn to it. Even tiny fruit flies and their friends, flies, spiders, and moths. I put one on each floor so that it would work best. The unit and refills are a little on the expensive side, but it works very well, and I only have to change out the replacement insert every three weeks during peak summer bug season.

Well worth the money! We haven't seen any flies, fruit flies, or mosquitoes since we plugged it in. Our house is 1,300 square feet, but only one of these works for the whole place! Best ever!

We got three of them to get rid of gnats in several rooms, and they worked in two days! Unplug or lower any night lights to maximize efficacy. The room must be entirely dark for the bugs to be drawn to it and suckered all day. We simply leave them running now, and they work well.

Fungus gnats have infected our 20+ indoor plants. Despite our best efforts, we still encountered 10-15 gnats every day (yes, it was a LOT worse at its peak). I bought the glowtrap to get rid of the adults and stop their producing eggs. We were desperate and eager to do anything. I wasn't expecting much from the trap, but I wanted to give it a go. We ran it day and night, rotating it between our three rooms near the plant density. We could see gnats adhered to the sticky pad after a day, but the truly great benefits came after a week when we noticed fewer gnats. We now see 1 or 2, but some days we see none! This was the most effective and easy technique to regulate the adult population. 10/10!

I got a new one! GREAT. My buddy even got me another for my birthday. It's great for mosquitoes and fruit flies, so I'm glad they changed it. I've used it for a year. I used it for mosquitoes in my RV, at work, and in my kitchen for fruit flies. It works. I retained the box to keep it and transport it. I disagree with every bad review of this product. I've had it for 2 weeks, and it's amazing. After reading the reviews, I looked at the sticky pad and counted 33 gnats/fruit flies/mosquitoes/etc. Those suffering issues may not have it at the best or most crowded bug concentration. We keep ours running all day in the kitchen near the fruit basket. Try it; if you're not happy, return it. We reside on 2.5 acres of woods, and these creatures invade the home every time the door is opened. I intend to purchase two more. We think it's worth it.

I adore this machine! Even after treating the plants, the airborne attack on everyone sitting in our living room persisted... until we got the glowtrap. Oh, Mercy! This machine is a steal!!! Extra adhesive pads for the bottom of the trap, which are simple to remove without contacting the bugs. For the first three days, I operated the trap in continuous mode...GNAT MASSACRE! We have a fruit fly issue (my wife likes to keep a lot of fruit around). I got this and have been using it on high (constantly) near the fruit for 2 weeks. It filled the sticky sheet on the bottom after 2 weeks. However, it didn't eliminate the fruit fly issue. Since this device creates no vortex or 'danger zone', it depends on 85% of the stupid fly population to unintentionally go over the top of the fan and get suctioned. The blue light on top attracts the upper 15% of 'intelligent' fruit flies, who go for the fruit bowl and avoid the death-trap. I'll keep his trap running to kill the stupid flies, but 10-15 flies will always land on and hover about the fruit dish that will evade the trap. Good for decreasing but not eliminating levels.

Invasion of Fruit Flies I went crazy trying to eliminate them using apple cider vinegar traps. I wish I had bought this gadget when I first started attempting to get rid of them. My flies still catch, but this would have been helpful. That's fantastic since I prefer to keep my patio doors open and things still come in through the screen. I also appreciate that it has a power pack option so you can plug it in and use it on the patio, which I may do this summer. Overall, happy with the purchase and would repurchase it. I keep it running all day and night on the kitchen counter. And it works well, and the fan hums quietly in the background. There are two settings: high and low.

The Gulf has difficulties with no-see-ums, small biting insects. They can crawl through window screens. They adore biting toddlers, and their bites ache badly. We were desperate to murder them inside. The Shieldeck insect trap works as stated. We read and acted on advice to maximise our gains. An adhesive pad beneath a modest fan may capture and retain these little devils until they die. We purchased two insects, catcher models. So I put a Shieldeck adhesive pad to the interior chamber, and it worked on no-see-ums. I can get refills, right? This is great for gnats, fruit flies, and midges. It will also keep mosquitoes out. Love it.

My home is a no-fly zone...love it—small but not inaudible sound. As a diffuser, blue light is soothing, including mosquitoes, moths, gnats, and houseflies. This gadget has saved my sanity this year. My husband and I live in the country and are plagued by flying insects. Fly landing on objects in my kitchen triggers my OCD to the extent that I have devised "fly protocol" for numerous products. As a paraplegic handicapped veteran, I won't feed you nonsense. I've had mine for over a year. I was suspicious at first until I grasped the device's purpose. Yes, it captures fleas, ticks, flies, and gnats. But it's after the bredder, the female. Also, turn off your lights since pests love light and heat. The machine features a light with a fan that "sucks" them in. Pesticides are not effective against bedbugs. I keep mine directly near the window opening, so it catches them straight away. It's not a quick remedy. It will take days. BUT YOU SHALL SEE RESULTS It's late May 2019. I've noticed one bug since December 2018. I have one in each window and entryway. I recently learned that bugs could enter via vents. Therefore I'll be ordering more for my vents. I'd take photographs, but it could offend others.

We love the Shieldeck bug trap. The insects on the glue pad show the outcomes. I TRIED IT WITHOUT THEM since I ran out of them, and it still caught bugs. Because I have a toddler and a baby, it captures flies and mosquitos. While I wasn't sure it would work, I located a suitable position and kept it there. It's usually filled after a few days. I have to replace the adhesive board often. But I wanted something safe for a kid (it's out of reach, of course), and I'm pretty pleased with my purchase.

Update: I got rid of my fruit fly problem! Due to the persistent kitchen issue, I had to purchase more sticky traps. I had a fruit fly COLONY for a time. I got this non-zapping tool since it worked better than flypapers and was less unattractive than hanging sticky flypapers, which I would have required to eliminate the fruit fly problem.

Is that the greatest I've used? Is it yes? It does help gnats. We found the kitties in a box. But it's a lot better now. It's decent, not outstanding.

I bought this with trepidation since I've had numerous previous tries at this kind of gadget that were mainly rubbish. It works. Every summer, when I open my windows and doors, I get gnats. They like my houseplants and reading light and stressful summer nights. That's because I established an indoor hydroponic system with extra lights this year. Indeed. The fliers came. This gadget is virtually quiet and practically pest-free. The May get in but don't last long. I purchased two to cover each floor. Made it well. Solid. Attractive. No zaps or loud noises.
