I was hesitant; however, this stuff worked after one night of use. It's always on and catches the fruit flies that I can't seem to get rid of.
I was dubious, since I'd tried similar gadgets. But I got the goods and tested them out. The GlowTrap works much better than the other brands. I would suggest, and I seldom do either.
It's flawless. Just follow the steps, and it does the rest. It's tiny, so keep it in enclosed areas. WAY BETTER THAN A BUG ZAPPER!
I've been using it for a week and keeping it on 24 hours per the seller's advice. It works; I sweep up 10-12 mosquitos every morning. Unless you have a lot of mosquitos, it will take a few days to see a difference. The vendor is beneficial.
UPDATE: I stated I'd update if it worked. I've had this unit on for about a week, and the fruit fly cloud has substantially lessened. There are a few holdouts. But I'm a lot happier now than I was. Making sure the room was darkened helped. I have a TV and a light in this room. But the bathroom of that room gets the most incredible light. So I shut the bathroom door more frequently. Then the gnats/fruit flies disappeared. Now I'm very happy with the product.
Shieldeck is a master at catching gnats. Close the room's door as advised. We were shocked at how many bugs it drew in.
This machine performs its job well. It's incredible how many gnats fly about daily. Replacing inserts is easy.
I was skeptical since I'd tried similar gadgets. I got the goods and tested them out. I would suggest, and I seldom do either.
This summer, flies and mosquitoes invaded my home, particularly my kitchen. I put this out late at night, and the following morning there were no flies in my home or kitchen. I'd purchase again.
The finest fly catcher ever!
The fruit flies leave after 1 day. A few now and then, but not like previously. It seems to capture mosquitos, which is a plus. No loud fans, either.
It's simple to use and clean.
In-laws may not be gone, but mosquitoes, flies, and nats are. It says to use in dark areas, but I've had no issues 10/10 product.
I tried it on 12hr and only got gnats and fruit flies. Then I tried it without the 6 or 12, and it began capturing flies. Better than anticipated.
Catches tiny houseflies but not ordinary houseflies.
Planting/starting seeds attract fruit flies.
Snagged the dirt bugs finally
Easy to assemble. Plug it in and watch. Hygienic
Overnight usage captured 3 gnats and 1 fly. I adore it and want more!
Wait a week. And flies go.
Initially skeptical, it works.
I had a few fruit flies in the kitchen that got attached to the adhesive pad in the bottom of the machine overnight. Have told friends and relatives
It is elegant and functional. Liked the numerous options.
It works. However it attracts mosquitoes when you turn it off, exit it, or clean it.
Great stuff. I got rid of the fruit flies.
In five days, it had captured 6 mosquitos and 10 fruit flies. I am pleased with my purchase since I previously had no way to eliminate mosquitoes inside. Thanks!
For 4 nights. Lots of dead fruit flies. Removed fly strips
This is my third purchase, and they all function wonderfully.
This stuff works! After purchasing this, I no longer have an issue with tiny fruit flies/gnats about the flat. It's just been a few weeks, but it's working and worth the money. I strongly advise.
Please put these on sale more regularly so I can purchase one for each room.
The guinea pigs love it because it keeps the flies away.
I bought this to manage the flies in our kitchen. I wanted something to attract flies but not generate a bug zapper-like noise that would terrify our other dogs. Effortless and practical It is an excellent product.
It genuinely catches bugs, and they attach to the sticky pad at the bottom.
My residence has a significant mosquito issue. Still, I've put up insect zappers with bait attractants and mosquitoes. Every night, I do this in my living room. This gadget captures pests I didn't even realize we were in my home.
Pricey, but nice. We got flies to enter the home via the rear entrance. This fixed the issue!
Perfect. Those sly fruit bugs have no chance. Awesomeness
This is at my mother's. 94. This fly trap is excellent. I hated being in the living room due to the flies and gnats. The identical room now has no flying creatures flying into my mouth. It caught thousands of flies the first week. Week 2: a few hundred. I just changed the adhesive pad and had a few flies. It's simple to use and clean. It's worth it.
I adore it. It's a keeper. Honestly, I was hesitant, but it works fantastic. I'd show the flies. However, they occasionally attempt to fly away from the paper.
I have indoor plants with gnats. Thus I bought two of these fly traps, and so far, they have worked. I adjust the fly traps twice a day to capture these pests!
We had a severe fruit fly issue, and they have saved our lives! A little vinegar cap below the fan area helps attract, but it works perfectly without it!
This works. So far. At night, just the unit's light attracts them. It can be timed. Changing the traps is a bit disgusting but straightforward to behold.
Because I live in a rural agricultural location, flies and fruit flies are a fact of life. An impulsive purchase to attempt to lower the quantity. Surprisingly large impact. I caught fruit flies, flies, tiny moths, and mosquitos. Worth every cent!!
This is great for capturing them as they fly. Our plants are OK, and we've moved them upstairs. Putting sticky traps in them
It took less than 48 hours to gather. I can't say more than this image shows! Now I'm overjoyed!!! The best!!!
This summer's insects were awful. We were nearly fly-free after only 24 hours! When we turn it on at night, no flies in the morning.
This thing works every time! I removed the source plant and am practically pest free! I'd suggest it to anybody with a bug issue! A+
Fruit flies not cooperating with "fruit fly punch" I...Pleasantly pleased at how well it works, 24 hours later, 80% of the issue is cured.
That was easy to do! It's pretty, and it works to get rid of those pesky fruit flies. No complaints. Cheers!
It works; it draws tiny flying insects into its chamber, where they become stuck. The fan makes a little noise, but it's worth it.
We went to see my nephew, who acquired a house near a lake and plenty of trees. He has at least 5 and swears by them. Bugs get into it, but it cleans off easily.
I got it to kill gnats in my kitchen. I am gnat-free after a week! I had to refill the sticky pad three times. I used an apple cider vinegar bait in front of the unit since they were more drawn to it than the light. I'd also advise running outdoors while unplugging the machine to replace the sticky pad since there may be some escaped in the bottom. I've already recommended it to others!
I bought it for fruit flies, but it also caught average-sized flies. If you're having difficulties collecting bugs, try adding honey or jam to the sticky pads.
What a honey trap!! I didn't believe it was that hot since I didn't see the gnats being pulled into the vortex. I believed the vacuum was weak (and it certainly may not be for flies). At the bottom, there were gnats, so I opened it up and was like DANG!! The gnats on the sticky pad made me think I was living in a dog gone outhouse. I wouldn't change it. Lol
This has helped me a lot since I attract insects. It's quiet, so it's in my home office during the day and my living room at night. I'll save it for next year's bug season. Those with mosquito issues should try this. It's a
I didn't believe it worked since I didn't observe flies being pulled into this black hole. During the day, you'll encounter flies. To do so, turn off the lights and let them operate overnight. It does what it claims.
I got this for my mother for Christmas, and she said it was the most acceptable gift ever. I had to leave a review! Her mosquito problem is gone once she plugged this in!!
We put apple vinegar dishes out but still got fruit flies. My wife used to tease me when I purchased this, but no more! This machine is now free of fruit flies! We both like the buy.
It's that time of year when gnats and mosquitoes invade. And it works well at night when the light attracts them. It saves lives.
I just got my Mosquito Catcher and put it up. I examined it this morning, and it had 30 mosquitos. They didn't follow the directions on setting it up and stated it didn't capture anything and "it's not worth it, don't get it." Place the mosquito catcher in a dark room. It works if you turn off all other lights. So far, so good. I give it 5 stars.
After the first one worked so well, I ordered three. It may take a while to see fruit flies or mosquitos in the trap if there aren't enough. Sadly, we had them EVERYWHERE and had 20-30 in one night. Make sure all lights are out at night, plug this in, and receive respite from gnats that attack your face while cooking or cuddling your infant.
It works! So far, hundreds of flies. I was wary after a terrible, unpleasant failure of a light-bulb version of a device that purported to capture insects. On a trip to see relatives, I came into a comparable operation, complete with flies. Good product.
It's been 24 hours. We've never had a fruit fly outbreak like this year, and the snapshot shows what one night can do. We put a little cup of wine near the machine and bang!!! I'm excited to finish the remainder.
My kitchen has had fruit flies and moths for weeks. They are almost gone with the aid of cleaning my cabinets, and this amazing find! & in a week! Easy to assemble, best buy ever. I'm pleased I didn't hire an exterminator.
It works well! It helped us address a fruit fly problem. It also looks good.
This Fly Trap is simple to operate and has collected flies, gnats, moths, and other flying insects. Replaceable adhesive pads! How many insects the GlowTrap captures each time I replace the sticky pad (every 3 weeks).
This is amazing. We had no idea we had fruit flies. I got it for mosquitoes. Because we reside in a mosquito-infested location, mosquito bites leave my kid and me with huge agonizing welts. We have 4 mosquitoes so far! Impressive!
We had gnat problems in our flat, so I ordered this. It helped a lot! We got a few. If you have difficulty as we did, I recommend leaving it on all night and perhaps for the first day.
We've just had it for 2 days, but it's fantastic. Bugs enter our back door when the dogs enter/exit. We placed this right at the door, and it works well. It comes with adhesive traps to install at the bottom that you can easily remove and replace.
This is a fantastic product. This autumn, we had fruit fly issues. I heard somewhere to put a banana or two out to attract fruit flies. So we placed a banana on either side of the machine, and it worked well. Better than vinegar and dawn. Recommend!
I'm pretty pleased with this product. I keep it on all night and turn off all other lights to get this in the morning. My flat overlooks a Metropark, so fruit flies, moths, and mosquitos are abundant. I'll probably acquire two to work on many rooms at once.
We had a gnat issue that went out of hand. After a week of nightly usage, the gnats were gone. In the morning, the sticky trap within proved how effectively it worked. Sleek and small enough to store on a counter. It's fantastic!
I've had it for a week. The accompanying photos are from one week of use. We got a month! Maybe that's why we didn't capture more flies. He was blocking the huge fly hole in the center. Big flies may get in. I hit one when it was just sitting there. AZ flies are horrible this year. This does the job. However, every time we open a door, more flies enter. It doesn't get them all, but it helps. It's worth a shot. Oh! It's so silent!
Every summer, fruit flies invade my house. My coffee and food are unsafe. I received it delivered and utilized it the next day. It was in my kitchen where they frequented. I got home and noticed how many it had. I didn't have to shoo them away the following day since they were scarce.
Finally, a working trap!! We had a significant fly issue last summer/fall, especially with the dogs in and out. We couldn't keep up with them. After a quick search, I decided to give it a go. ! The timer is my favorite. It's great because you can set it before night and wake up with no flies!
This product is better than I anticipated, but it does the job. The fan is silent, and the light is soft. It worked excellent for our gnat problem. However, I had some issues. There's no outlet near our garbage, but there was no motion near the fruit dish. So I placed a banana inside the fan to entice them. The gnats flew away after a few days. I hope that helps someone.
I purchased some fruit with fruit flies and live in an agricultural region where drain flies and horse flies are common. I purchased many items due to the fly issue. It works!!! Nothing else works, but this one attracts and keeps bugs. I'm changing the pads every 2 days, and I'm disgusted by the number of flying animals.
So far, so good. This year looked like a bumper crop of insects, and my home was becoming a fly magnet. Setup was a breeze—six, twelve, and on choices. I've left it on all day for fun. Aside from the light, I've discovered that placing a little apple cider vinegar near the trap attracts more insects. I've captured around 50 insects in a week.
I wish I had a photo! My fiance and I recently experienced a nasty fly and fruit fly infestation. We tried everything to get rid of them, but nothing worked. I usually read the reviews, some of which I doubted, but I was desperate. My sticky portion was coated with flies by morning! We had the same problem, and I informed my neighbor about it and showed him how it worked. He immediately ordered one. I kept moving around, hoping to capture more, and I did! We are now a fly-free zone. Recommend.
I purchased it for a vacation to Tahoe. My first use case was while I was barbecuing, and there were no bugs. The cabin was pleasant, but pests abounded. I kept it on overnight and awoke up to several catches. I wish it had a built-in battery. I use my USB power bank, which works perfectly.
By attracting flying insects, this gadget pulls them into the "chamber of death," where they attach to the sticky pad at the bottom—using it in the bedroom while sleeping is not advised due to the brightness and noise of the fan. We found it best to leave the gadget outside our bedroom at night to attract insects. Overall, I'm pretty pleased.
We saw two minor bugs buzzing about the home a few weeks ago in the kitchen, dining room, and bedroom. We transferred part of the dirt to one of the plants outdoors, but it didn't solve the issue. I bought this bug catcher to assist me in hunting out the source(s). It's SO PLEASING
I was a desperate gnat. They were everywhere in my house! My old vinegar home cure didn't work this time. And the sticky butterflies. My house is gnat-free! It also captured a few flies and mosquitoes. I put more butterfly sticky things after applying the circular adhesive discs on the bottom. It has a timer; I used to run it all day, but now I just run it at night. I was ready to buy a more costly one but am glad I got this one for less. Great!
Ok, I won't sugarcoat it! We (my 12 and 15-year-old sons) have a fruit fry issue. It isn't because my sons leave dishes out for days or juice cups strewn around their room. NO! Because we live in an RV in the middle of nowhere, and they pay rent here... We couldn't sit down and enjoy a meal without these fruit flies joining us as if they were unwelcome family visitors, unaware that they'd overstayed their welcome (even after you do the yawn and say, oh look at the time, and I have to wake up at the crack of dawn). I got it Monday, worked on it that night, and here we are Tuesday morning. I was skeptical of this computer and its powers as I was of the dolphins winning a game (as we all know, highly unlikely, lol). I was incorrect; it accomplished anything in 12 hours! This battle was won, but the fight is only starting!!!
While Arizona, especially in the spring and autumn, is a mosquito haven. Mosquitoes are everywhere when the weather warms up. So I placed one in the kitchen to capture them. After the first day, the "catch" container had many that made it into the kitchen/family area. More the following day and time. It runs quietly and has a practical and appealing design. I highly suggest it.
We've probably all turned down a loud insect zapper for indoor usage. But when a family member unintentionally invites mosquitoes inside, it's bite or fight! This one is good and quiet. Flyswatters are unnecessary in the kitchen because light attracts both mosquitos and flies. That's because insects are most active in the early morning and late evening.
I have a blue and gold macaw that got some fruit flies in his diet. I couldn't get rid of them. My bug-killing options are limited owing to the bird. I put this next to his cage for 3 days and saw an improvement. They were 90% gone in a week. I stuck to the container's bottom pad. Even someone with limited hand usage may easily change the adhesive pads. It worked so well I ordered another for the kitchen (bananas, we eat a lot of them). A month later, no bugs in the home. I captured several more giant flies. It also works well as a kitchen nightlight. Worth the buy.
I don't usually write reviews, but I had to with this one. I planned to return it in a few days. It wasn't functioning. My trap has a fly in it! I've had it running for a few weeks and never opened windows or doors. On the sticky sheet were scores of nastily annoying bugs. I'm ecstatic. This was a steal!
This item works. We have a few insides but millions outside. This product catches mesquites in the dark—no night bites.
I got two more after this one worked so nicely. Our home has an inexplicable gnat infestation. A bit harsh, but I wouldn't say I like flying insects in my home. Even though I neglected to remove the cover for the sticky insect catcher on their first one, it still functioned well. I currently have three of them set up in my mom's room, kitchen, and office, and I anticipate being pest-free in less than 48 hours. They provide a six or 12-hour cycle. However, I now run it for 24 hours. It's well-made, simple to assemble, and works well.
Superb item It's excellent; the glue keeps even little butterflies that fly inside when a door opens. Replace the glue as well. And it was cheap.
Every time we opened the door, a swarm of mosquitos descended. I had had enough. I gave in and purchased two. Like you, I studied the package. Glad to know I can use it outdoors in my cleansed years! A vertical air flue has to be the answer. So I put them out that night—one in a mosquito-infested bathroom and another in the house's open space. The light amazed the entire family. They worked. We've kept them constantly running, and no one has been bitten inside since we bought them. So I'll call this gamble a victory!! I was pleased. I'm joking about the badly proofread box, but they've performed wonderfully at particularly capturing mosquitos.
Almost silently runs close to our door and trash (barely bearable vent sound). When it becomes dark about 6 pm, I set it for 12 hours and forget about it. It captures anything flying around and cleans up easily (remove the sticky pad). We tried more costly ones, but this is the only one that works.
First, let me state that I was not compensated or rewarded for evaluating this product. I'm known for going nuts when fruit flies are around, so I bought this on a whim. As you can see, I was not disappointed. It had already attracted this swarm of bugs. Those who think it can double as a night light must have a better tolerance for that amount of light nearby at night. I positioned mine in the kitchen, so the light didn't bother us elsewhere. I'm happy with my purchase and pleased I tried it.
I have a fruit fly infestation. It took a few days for me to see any results. It didn't happen overnight, but I got this a month ago, and today I hardly changed the sticky pad. I don't see as many fruit flies around anymore, and when there are flies, they get trapped. Love, and it's sup.
Easy to install, zaps ankle-biters, and cleans up! My garage was infested with the new ankle-biter mosquito, whose bites were agonizing, disfiguring, and sluggish to heal. So I got two for the garage and patio. To use them, unscrew the bottom part, line up the sticky filters with the slots, push them to the device's base (behind the fan unit), peel off the sticky protective cover, replace the bottom part, plug it in, and turn it on at night (be careful of looking directly at the light that attracts the mosquitoes because it is very bright and irritating to the eyes if you look at it too long). These devices appear basic, yet they work! Thank you, I will use these again next mosquito season!
