Finally, a solution for the little gnats that buzz about my face at night! The cost is reasonable for this. It's nice to let this run all day and night to attract those pests!

I hoped so badly that this would work and it truly did. Instructions say to give it a couple days and I thought it was inaccurate due to catching a few right away but wow after a couple of days it caught more gnats then I thought I even had in my apartment. If you have plants or a need for this product this is a no brained and the best solution I have found in the few I have tried. Grab this asap!!

This is the best item ever! I consume a lot of fruits and veggies, have a modest hydroponic system, and have several indoor plants. Thus it would be an understatement to say that fruit flies and gnats are a possibility. I had started to sometimes see the "little buggers," but I had no clue how many would be drawn to their doom by this contraption. It began gathering gnats and fruit flies within a short period of time, and as time has gone on, it has grown even more efficient. It is only on when I am asleep, and I no longer notice them nearby. This was purchased for my home after my employer purchased one for the workplace to address a bothersome fruit fly issue. Over the summer, I had a party, and I must have summoned The Exorcist's wrath because swarms of enormous black flies emerged from my basement (which also happened the summer before when I had a party). I was a little disappointed when I opened it because the directions state in large, bold type that it DOES NOT work on large flies. Nonetheless, I had no choice but to run it for three days, so I put it up in my dim basement. On the third day, I arrived to the most repulsive sight I had ever witnessed: over 13 large flies had gotten their heads stuck in the sticky pad. I was finally free to do my laundry without the overhanging danger of enormous flies buzzing about me after two weeks and three sticky pads. So, yes, I wholeheartedly endorse this product. It operates best when it's almost completely dark. The UV light must be the brightest item since that is what draws the bugs to their doom. in the space.

After purchasing it, I read the product review, which stated that it was ineffective against flies. I plugged it in, and within a few hours, it was home to three flies. It had one more when I awoke. The adhesive pad should have something to make it attach to the back, in my opinion.

Fruit flies and the tiniest flies that fly up the kitchen sink have been a problem for us. We had experimented with dumping a variety of items down the drain while covering it when not in use. I can't even begin to tell you how much money we wasted on various items in an effort to get things to function. I thus purchased this device, and let me tell you that after only a few days, neither fruit flies nor flies that emerged from the sink were there. Since we started using it, there have been no more flies of any type in our kitchen. This is a great investment! It is also simple to throw away the old sticky pad and buy a new one.

Amazingly, this product performs nicely. I've tried the traditional gnat traps and yellow stickies, and while they do work, this was far more effective and required less work. In addition, I can track the amount of people captured and watch it drop, which is progress. Do not forget to switch it on at night!

This actually works! I've tried vinegar, sticky tape, traps, and other methods to get rid of the gnats on my houseplants, but nothing has been successful. I plugged this up right next to them, and a gentle light came out as it ran silently. Overnight, the gnats were attracted to it. I left it running for two weeks, checking up on it after that.

There is a tiny fan sound from the Shieldeck trap, but it is not loud enough to be a concern. I didn't expect it to be this little. Little flies that fly into your face and around the monitor at night are produced by my wife's indoor houseplants, which are all around the home. The trap effectively caught the majority of these bugs. The sticky pad has lots of stickiness. The only thing I can say about the trap is that its attraction radius is likely not that large, which is true of all comparable traps, in my opinion. The flies must be within, say, 10 feet of the line of sight in order to approach the trap; they do not move from one room to the next. If you want to get rid of these pests, you'll need a few of them in each room. As we have plants all over, we'd need a few more if we wanted to solve the issue, but for now, we relocated the little Shieldeck, which has helped to get rid of most of the bugs but not all of them.

I bought 2 and I was almost sure I'd return it after I opened it. It appeared to be ineffective due to it's simplicity; but I am happy to say I'm wrong. I don't know how, but (all the gnats...gone)! The little sticky pad is full of gnats (small and big), a few mosquitos, and some miniature centipede looking things.Simple looking product, but it's very effective!

This is quite effective. Very happy I purchased it. Gnats from some new plants, tiny moths, and mosquitoes were a problem. It both draws them in and captures them well. a warm morning with fewer mosquito bites since it attracted and captured them.

I share a house with five other people that is older, and we are always surrounded by an abundance of fruit. Fruit flies/gnats started to reproduce quickly to the point that it was alarming. Our issue has been resolved after only two days of use. The fan noise is fairly quiet on both the High and Low settings, which is a wonderful feature.

My indoor plants got gnats, and they were screaming everywhere, so I ordered this! It slashed the population in half in just 2 days while it was on and close to my plants! I needed to replace the adhesive pad. The only issue is that it doesn't come with many sticky pads, so if you frequently encounter fruit flies or gnats, I advise purchasing more pads for it. I now alter it once every week in an effort to capture the remaining of them. If you enjoy white noise, the fan on it may be somewhat calming, and the low-level purple light isn't very distracting either. Some of my plants have been leaning toward the bug catcher, so I assume they like the light. Overall, I would strongly recommend this product since it has transformed my home!

Helped take care of some flying insects we had in the house.

This assists me in fending off the gnats that emerge from the person who uses the restroom with me but isn't particularly tidy.

I got this for the mosquitoes but I had no idea how many gnats where flying around in the house during the summer until I started using it. I also caught a small moth. The trick is to turn it on then turn off the lights and close the door in each room for up to three days. The only thing is that eventually I have to buy new pads for the bottom.

The last two days, I've been looking for a troublesome mosquito in my chamber. It's challenging to find because my room is a dark blue color. I applied this over night, and it worked. I'm grateful.

I didn't think it would work, but I was wrong. It did the job quickly. After I showed a few friends how great this work was, a few of them placed orders.

We couldn't get rid of the fruit flies in our house no matter how much we cleaned. It didn't work right away, but in about three to four days, they were all gone. We still run it at night to keep it in good shape, but they haven't come back.

I had a lot of trouble with fungus gnats because of a bag of dirt I bought at Costco. I put this on my potting table in the room where all my seedlings are. The results are... IMPOSSIBLE. The problem is almost solved in less than 12 hours. Get it!

This really does work. I wasn't sure about it at all, but it does what it says it does. The pads have great glue, so once those things land on them, they don't come out.

If you add a little bit of apple cider vinegar, it works even better.

I bought this after I bought ANOTHER plant from a nursery that had fungus gnats on it when I got it home. I follow the instructions and only turn it on at night, when all my other lights are off. The number of flying gnats has gone down by a lot, and the Shieldeck has even caught 8 or 9 of them for me. The picture is only of one plant, and I think I caught it before it got too bad. I love how easy it is to set up and use, and it doesn't look too bad sitting on my media unit. Definitely worth the money!

During the warm months, flies and mosquitoes often come into my house, and they often keep me from sleeping. But this bug catcher does a great job of attracting bugs with the blacklight, and when it's working, it makes a soothing "hum."
