I needed something to get rid of the fungus gnats that live in my house plants. After the first night, the machine caught so many people it was crazy. So glad I bought it!!!

When I bought it, I saw the result after four days. I got rid of the mosquitoes where I live.

I can't really tell if it's working or not because I don't see many on the sticky glue boards and I had some gnats. But it must be working because I only see a few here and there. I always keep my own.

It's so cool that I had to buy one for myself, and my mom bought another one for her horse trailer. Easy to put together. It has a modern look, so it doesn't look bad. Since bugs don't get zapped, there's no burning smell like there is with other bug catchers. I think everyone should buy this.

This thing works great, doesn't use much or any power, and has no chemicals in it. I own three of these. The house one, the garage one, and the camper one. Most of the time, it gets fruit flies. But it will also catch house flies, gnats, and even mosquitoes sometimes. It uses Shieldeck sticky pads, but I've found that anything sticky will work, like duck tape. This is best for places where plants are kept or grown inside. I've used this product every day in my garage for two years without any problems.

There were a lot of gnats in our house. Gnats drove us crazy for the first time in over 30 years. I bought this Shieldeck in the hopes that it would work. It has. No gnats or fruit flies have made it. The sticky discs work great and are easy to swap out. This machine DOES get rid of gnats and other flying bugs in your home. Even though it says on the box that this machine is not for flies, I have found a couple of them.

People say this won't catch flies, but I've been using it to catch flies since 2018 and just ordered a second one. Very simple to use, clean, and change out the inserts. Getting rid of the tiny flies that come into our house through the windows.

This tiny machine is really cool! Leave the apple cider vinegar out of it! With the Shieldeck, you can get rid of your fruit flies faster and better. When we bought fruit in bulk from warehouse clubs or when my daughter forgot to empty the compost bin, we always saw fruit flies. This fall, it seemed like there were more fruit flies than usual, and we couldn't get rid of them. I had looked at the Shielddeck before but didn't buy it. Instead, I used apple cider vinegar like I always did, but it wasn't working. It seemed to make the problem worse, in fact. I gave in and bought the Shieldeck machine in the end. It changed everything! When we first set it up, we put it in manual mode so that it would run all the time. We didn't think it would work right away because the ads said it would take about three days, but as soon as we turned on the machine, flies were drawn to the light. We were very surprised (and a little grossed out) to see that we caught a couple dozen bugs on the first night! On the second day, there were probably close to a hundred bugs on the pad. And by the third day, the number of bugs it had caught was so gross that we changed the sticky pad. To get rid of all the fruit flies, it took about two weeks on manual mode and three sticky pads. Now we've put the machine on automatic, so it will only turn on when it gets dark. Since it also catches mosquitoes, we could use it in our room when we go to places like Hawaii, California, and Florida where we get a lot of mosquito bites. I highly recommend the Shieldeck if you want to get rid of fruit flies in your home quickly and keep it bug-free every day. I was also very pleased with how well the Shieldeck sticky pads worked. The pads fit the base perfectly, and they're easy to peel off the paper backing. I haven't tested them side by side, but I can say that they're sticky enough to do the job.

I had a problem with gnats eating my plants for a while, and every night, the light and suction caught a lot of those annoying little bugs. It's easy to use and runs very quietly. I like it and would suggest it.

My family had a piece of fruit go bad, which led to a problem with fruitflies. Our daughter made the problem worse by hiding pieces of her dinner (mostly vegetables) in napkins and putting them under and in the sofa and chairs. We had these annoying arse bugs for more than 14 months. They flew into our drinks, buzzed around while we ate, and even came into the bathroom. The exterminator didn't get rid of them, and neither did vinegar traps, fly strips, and trying to keep everything as clean as possible with messy kids. Katchy was about the tenth thing we tried to fix the problem, and after a week, it was almost completely gone. After one month, not a single fly... Hallelujah! I can't say enough good things about this gadget. The included picture is from one of the later sticky pads. It still gets the occasional moth, skeeter, or fly, but wow. Setup is easy and doesn't need a crayon explanation. If you can't figure it out, ask your toddler to help. We don't see gnats flying around anymore, and it even caught a few mosquitos. Don't think that it will get them right away. Set it and forget about it, it will work in a few days. Make sure the lights are off where you put it overnight, since the light will attract them. Definitely buy again.

You'll see reviews from people who say it doesn't work because they're trying to catch flies, but the manual makes it clear that it's not meant to do that and should only be used for catching smaller insects. It also tells you that you can boost the power by putting a handful or a cup full of apple cider vinegar inside. This product does what it says and is better than most similar ones. It works best at night when there are no other lights on in the room. This way, the light and smell will attract the fruit flies and gnats. If you want to catch them on the sticky pad alone, you will have to be even more patient, but the key is to be patient. It takes about 1 to 2 days for the fruit flies and gnats to die.

I'm actually buying my second Shieldeck because the first one worked so well. Anyone who has grown plants indoors knows that soil has the eggs of fungus gnats, which are tiny black flies that appear out of nowhere when you use new soil, whether you are planting new plants or replanting old ones. Especially if you have a small indoor greenhouse with a lot of plants or trees growing in pots, every time you use new soil and start to water it, those little pests pop up everywhere. Glue traps work fine, but the Shieldeck pulls in thousands of them like a vacuum. The third picture was taken after only about an hour in the greenhouse. The sticky pads had already been changed a few times, and they were completely black because they were covered in fungus gnats. The Shieldeck works best if you keep it on "Manual Mode." That way, it constantly draws in flies, and in a small greenhouse like mine, it also moves the air around to keep the humidity and temperature even. If you have a lot of plants or pots, you should definitely buy extra sticky pads because they will get used up quickly. This is a great product that works very well. It's like a factory for killing flying bugs, and it does a great job of keeping your home from being overrun by them. Also great for getting rid of mosquitoes!
